About the Outfitter:
This Canada hunt provider offers moose hunts throughout much of Albert. These are done during the rut which is typically the first and second week of October and the late season in November. Hunting moose is done using various methods to attract the moose to hunters. If one method is not working, they can change the plan and/or location as required. There are hundreds of square kilometers to cover. They offer moose rut hunts on large tracts of rugged land while late season moose hunts are conducted in more rural surroundings with a combination of both public and fenced ranch land.
Depending on the area hunted they utilize either a remote trailer camp with motorhomes and travel trailers to provide all the comforts of home or the more rugged outfitter tent camp. ATVs are used to aid hunters gain better access to the hunting areas.
Other areas will be on local ranches or chalets to offer the comforts of a less remote hunt. Typical travel is done by vehicle or by foot.
Archery rut moose hunts are at the end of September through the month of October. We find that the first and second week is the most productive time for the rut archery hunt.
RUT RIFLE HUNTS
Remote Tent Hunts in the rugged foothills area the last week of September into the first half of October.
12 x 14 canvas tents are used to sleep 2 to 3 hunters. The guides and cook are located separate from the hunters for hunter privacy. The central area is for cooking and eating. Each tent has its own wood stove. Access to the hunting area is by 4×4 and have available ATVs in camp to help pull out animals. The camp is limited to only 5 hunters and at least 3 guides.
Experienced guides are professional hard working Albertans, who know their respective territory well. These 6-day camps are operated during two consecutive weeks with a maximum of only four hunters per camp including 2 guides.
Lodge Hunts are also available in the rigged remote foothills area the last week of September into the first half of October.
LATE SEASON RIFLE HUNTS
Hunt moose on large tracts of private ranchland and some parcels of public land during the month of November. Moose harvest rates during this month are high with a number of years resulting in a 100% success rate. This time of year is more dependent on the weather.
Accommodation ranges from motorhome/travel trailer type camps, rugged tent camps, local small town motels and private Alberta full facility working ranches. A combination of 4x4s, ATVs and a lot of walking is done depending on the physical condition of hunting guests, and the specific requirements of the hunt.
These hunts are done during the month of November.

Alberta, Canada near Edmonton and Calgary.

Moose, mule deer, whitetail, elk and wolf.
Seasons & Licenses:
August 30 through September 12 is an exclusive bowhunting season while September 13 through October is open to either gun or bow. Since this is a fall hunt there is a good possibility of shooting a bear if you tag out early. In addition, a caribou tag may be available, but since the Woodland Caribou is low in numbers Newfoundland is the only huntable herd any more. The Caribou Grand Slam shooters usually have those tied up for years in advance. The Woodland Caribou is a smaller caribou sub-species. The barren Ground Caribou is much larger and I can easily get you licenses but it would have to be next year.
Party Size:
One or more per group.
Mode of Travel:
4x4, ATVs and foot.
Success Rate:
Opportunity rate is usually between 75% to 90% and frequently achieve a slightly higher opportunity success on our late season moose hunts. The kill rate is generally in the 65% to 75% range. Average bull moose racks range from 30″ to 45″, with body weights upward of 1,000 pounds. Although, most years a couple of hunters are fortunate enough to take a moose with a rack in excess of 50″.
