About the Hunt Provider:
Pristine Semi-Guided DIY hunt in Colorado but near the New Mexico State line with all the benefits. A 540-acre honey hole at 8,000' elevation with timber, parks, and water. Then 35-70 acres of Ranger alfalfa has made it the home for all the elk in the area. The reason is, there is no other alfalfa field in at least 5 miles. This honey hole has cover and water which all game need. This private land is only lightly hunted to keep the elk at their present quality and concentration. When a group is on the ranch, they are the only ones on the ranch.
This is basically a DIY trespass hunt, but the ranch provides someone to get you through the locked gates, into the trailer if needed, where to camp if you are providing your own lodging. Then they will provide a map of the property outlining the fence lines because the property has cattle fence all the way around it so that if you cross the fence, you are on someone else’s land. This is a well-managed working cattle ranch. If you need him to provide more property boundary detail, he can take you to them, so you do feel comfortable with them. We are here for your safety and success. The property is big being about 1 mile by 1 mile. He will not be with you when you are hunting unless you have a problem and call because you need him for safety or other reasons.
There is crop farming on the ranch, so the game is accustomed to some vehicles. They are not above helping themselves to some of the crops.
