Hunt ID: CO-5187
About the Outfitter:
We pack in by horseback from 2.5 to 9 miles (average 7) and hunt from 8,000 to 11,000’ elevation. Camps are already set up with what you need including cots, propane or wood stove, propane, chairs, table, axe, saw, latrine and cooking equipment, just bring personal gear and food. Expect pine forest, aspen, some open meadows and oak brush. We will put you in a camp that meats your hunting style and ability. We cannot guarantee success, but we strive to get you and your group the best opportunity at the game you're chasing. Once booked we will give you information on the area you are hunting, you can then E-scout to get as familiar with the area as possible without boots on the ground. The hunting is all up to you, once successful you will need to quarter your animal and have it in a horse accessible spot where we will come in and pack it out for you.

We also do not ride horses all over the mountain looking for elk, for the first 2 days of the hunt it is all hiking from camp, if we are having to hike further from camp to find elk we will bring in horses to finish the last part of the hunt. Our hunts have a lot of spot and stalk aspects depending on the season. Archery and muzzy season we do a little more waiting at water holes, wallows, and ambushing on transition areas with some calling mixed in. Rifle season is a lot of sitting and spotting, then stalking the animals once they’re spotted. If we have their transition areas we will try to ambush.
