Hunt ID: CO-5188
About the Outfitter:
All hunts are personalized, as guiding is done by the owners and family for wilderness hunts with tent lodging.
On wilderness hunts game is taken anywhere from 1/4 to 3 miles from camp. We can close out the camp to a group of 4, and the camp size is limited. Hunt camps can either be the guided package, 1 on 1 guided hunts, or you can mix and match within the camp according to the needs and requirements of each individual hunter. Walking may be typically about 2-3 miles/day and can be longer or shorter. Spot and stalk may be done depending on terrain. Hunting all public land including USFS, BLM and wilderness areas.
We do the transporting to the guided camp at the edge of the wilderness area. If you FLY, we can pick you up at the Montrose airport (MTJ) the day before we leave for camp. If timing is tough, we can always work it out.
Generators may be available at camp for c-pap machines.
Camp in GMU065 9800-10,000’ elevation.
Camp in GMU074 9500-11,600’ elevation.
Camp in GMU075 is more remote, end of the road and difficult access, Weminuche wilderness no 3rd/4th rifle season, 11,600’ elevation.
This detailing gets a little complicated because this Hunt Provider hunts so many properties, elevation along with lodging and meals or not. He is able to shift to lower altitude property as the elk migration triggered by snow depth drives elk to lower properties.
